My husband's cousin died on Thanksgiving.

Don't know many details at this point but it was definitely drug-related. 23 years old. He would have been 24 on Christmas Eve. His dad was with him..right along side him doing it too apparently..took him a while to realize the kid was dead. They are out in Denver. The kid had gone out there to be with his dad. It's been nothing but trouble ever since. All the family (at least the family that gives a shit about the kid) are back here in Iowa. Damn. What a waste.

he's had a pretty messed up life..both his mom and dad are burnouts. His dad took off when he was a baby, and the mom was happy to dump him with anyone she could, so he's been shuffled around amongst the aunts and uncles in the family most of his life. He was always a little wild, but basically a good kid who just needed some stability.When he turned eighteen he decided he was going to "find his dad" and he thought he'd have it made. Every since he hooked up with his dad out in Colorado he's been in trouble constantly, and now this. Damn.
