Horrible weather and people drive like idiots |
|
I have a 53 mile commute on the Interstate to my job. Tonight its pouring rain, so I am driving home with wipers going full speed and I can barely see the road. Some people have pulled off the road, not always in the best places.
But meanwhile, there are other idiots passing me and honking at me because I am not going fast enough. I'm doing between 45 and 60 most of the way but there is no way I am taking it up to 75 like the idiots all around me. Some are truckers, most just cars.
A loss of control and you can die out there. What is the big fucking hurry?!

1. You're braver than me. I'm terrified of driving at night in the rain. |

My eyes are not what they used to be and the light reflect off the water droplets and blind me for a second. Is working at home an option on those days/nights?

2. No, I'm tech support and I have to be there. |

I've thought about waiting a little longer to leave work, so there is less traffic. I just can't believe how agressive drivers are, when its so easy to have an accident. I can see ok, but I am not confident going the same speed I would on a dry road.
One day last year after a snowstorm I saw 10 vehicles off the road (one of them upside down). The key to staying on the road is simply to slow down.
