This type of activity should be strongly supported by schools. Provide the space, make the sound/lighting equipment available, and let them go. This is an electric environment, and I think it's a lot more positive than sporting events which put such a huge emphasis on victory.

thanks for posting those. I was just watching a bunch of old Rock Steady Crew videos. I think the reason it went underground is because of media programming; they are always shoving the next great new thing in our faces and demanding we consume it, we get overwhelmed with all the stuff out there and all we hear is 'new/new/new'. I hope that stuff like youtube and pay per view and tivo and all that stuff will finally bring an end to this urge to 'program' everything for the public. Even though I think it's kind of creepy I think this thing of selling advertising based on what we are running searches on is gonna be better for the artists in the long run because it leaves the field wide open for all different kinds of expression instead of the marketeers foisting that belief on the public that there is a limited number of choices. They just need to put shit out in an accessible form and let us pick and choose what we want to see. Those are some really gorgeous videos, thanks.
