Poll question: How annoying are people in love? |
|
You know what I'm talking about. Always going on about how happy they are, how wonderful the object of their affection is. How goddamn blue the sky is today. :D

4. They can be hell, just crying out for a good Uzi-ing, or |
|
they can be wonderful. Usually a simultaneous thing rather than an either/or, because the dichotomy often comes from within the observer...when you're hurting, and so much hurt comes from love (or 'love'...love that didn't turn out to be love at all), they can be agonizing to behold. Otherwise, the happiness they radiate can be quite catching.
Of course, some of them really ARE probably annoying, but they still mean well. :D
I've had enough of a taste of love to look forward to more, at last.

16. When I broke up with my last girlfriend |
|
...I went down to my local pet store. See, I had ordered a kinda spendy dog bed for one of my pups, because there just wasn't room for him on the bed, what with the girlfriend and all. So I went down to the store, and told the woman (known her for years) I didn't need the extra space any more. :(
She said she understood, and felt badly for me. Then she paused, and said (with a big grin) "Well, I guess when you come buy a dog bed, we'll all know what the story is!!" :D
I popped down yesterday to look at dog beds. :bounce:

25. They're not as bad and those who try and convince others they are |
|
You know the ones.. my hubby this, my sweetie that.. They like to put the impression out there all is wonderful, but in reality they're a bunch of dysfunctional morans. I used to work with a woman who always went on about her husband even though we all knew he was an abusing cheater. THOSE are the ones who make me crazy.
The ones who really love that person? - I just tell them to shut up when enough is enough :P

26. Just the ones who let "love" make them stupid. |
|
For a lot of guys, anyway, "love" consists of "how often can we have sex?"
I had a roommate who got married under dubious circumstances. He and his wife never lived together, they didn't know each other for even a year, he sacrificed an MBA so he could marry her, she's not doing much with her life, and he was too "smitten" to sign a pre-nup.
Now they're stuck elsewhere, and neither one of them can get a decent job. They yammer on about their goals but clearly aren't making any headway towards reaching said goals. If I were in his position I would've gotten an MBA first, but I guess he threw caution to the wind.
They would call it "love", I would call it being a deep-sea diver with an anchor tied to yourself.
Love is wonderful, yes, but not when it causes you to act like a total idiot. I suppose many would criticize me for using my head when I get into relationships like that.

28. Only the assholes who need to parade that bullshit. |
|
People -- decent people -- who are really in love don't need to talk about it.
it's the assholes who ruin it for everyone else.
And the annoying ones? They are REALLY REALLY FUCKING annoying.
