Okay, folks,

I'm finishing nanowrimo. It's a good thing there was a snowstorm, black ice and temps in the teens to make sure I finish, hm? :scared:

I hope you're all safe, warm, and with whomever makes you happiest right now. Let's sit in front of the fire and relax. Who wants a warm drink? The bar's (and espresso machine) is ready to go!

There's a comfy chair and a blankie for you in front of the fireplace...

Julie

We're east of Redmond. There's PLENTY of ice, but I haven't gone outside today.

I just want poor Patiod to get to her hotel safely...

:toast: with whatever warm beverage you prefer!

It's like a graveyeard in here though. Almost every single restaurant is closed.

I'm still stuck here til 9:00.

22. The one on the left looks a lot like my beastie.
I'm just hoping the ice goes away before my wife goes into labor. If not, we have snow chains and I-5 doesn't look too bad.

23. Cemaphonic, we hope all goes well!
You have an extra-special reason for the freeze to go back where it came from. You and your wife need to get to the hospital!

Here's to an easy, quick labor and a healthy baby! :woohoo:

25. Thanks!
Fortunately, we are pretty close to I-5 and only have a few blocks of tricky streets to navigate, so I am not too concerned. Sure didn't expect a spell of city-paralyzing ice in November, though.

could have been litter mates. They might enjoy seeing their mirror image but we may have problems telling them apart.

8. I heating up the hot buttered rum batter and just about to snuggle kitty.
There are maybe one or two little improvements I could make, but generally speaking this is most excellent.

11. Sounds good!
Tea, hot buttered rum, kitties, blankies and flannel...

Ahhh. Wintertime.

Thinking about those skating around on the freeways right now, and hoping they'll get home to their loved ones sooner than later, and in one piece. :scared:

"Good thing I wore my hat today. It's freezing here!"

Julie

p.s. One of my girlfriends called me the other day. "Julie. I can understand having a crush on a singer or an actor, maybe a professional athlete. A federal prosecutor? Are you kidding me?"

18. snow-day party!
Ive got on two sweaters and I'm in a 0 degree sleeping bag watching CSI and ocassionally reading Xylene-Free Method for Histological Preparation: A Multicentre Evaluation (Falkenholm et al., 2001). Oh, and Ive got some Wild Turkey to keep me warm, and a fleece bomber hat.

We're trying to get through the winter without turning the heat on (an extra $100 per month in the IRA, you know). So far, it hasnt been intolerable, kind of nice actually. Like camping but indoors.

its quarter after 7 and already 20 degrees (outside).

Even with the heat on in our house, I'm wearing three layers and it's still a bit chilly.

I hope everyone's warm and comfortable -- I'll throw another log on the fire while I'm up!

29. Okay, now I'm laughing out loud!
>I want to see him walk and wiggle his can.<

He's sitting in his office right now, steaming: "I've worked 80 hours a week since God was a boy. I've flown all over the world chasing terrorists, I've done my best to restore faith in the legal profession, and now I'm a piece of MEAT? I resent this. I -- I have feelings. I do." Mumble, mumble, mumble, gets up and locks the door to his office...
