I think I owe the Lounge an apology...for my post Sunday night

I wasn't thinking clearly, and the alcohol I consumed that night led to a very stupid decision I made to try cocaine for the first time ( some people here seem to think it was speed that I did ). Anyway, that is not important; my post seemed to upset a few people here, because they could relate to a personal experience they had with a family member who either went through an addiction problem or died because of it.
I say to those people now...I am very sorry to have posted this thread to begin with. I tied quite a few on that night, and was just looking for some insight on the situation. What started out as a party night with some co-workers and a few bar patrons I have come to know closely, came to be an experiment in stupidity for me...something I never would have done if I were sober; I suppose the situation called for it? :dunce: After my post, many people here were upset at my decision for doing what I did, and any other day I would have told these people to fuck off and mind their own business...not this day.
To everyone who told me what I did was irresponsible and wrong....you are right. I do not hold your opinions against you. I can't describe what was happening to me that night that made me want to do what I did, but in the end it was wrong. I acknowledge that...I did during the original post. And I will say right now that I will NEVER do this sort of thing again. I understand that many of you don't know me very well, or know what I'm about...but people...this is NOT ME.
To everyone I offended here, or upset, my sincerest apologies to you...I guess I was just looking for a sounding board that night.
I will be taking some time off from here to collect my thoughts...I'm not particularly happy with what I did, but I guess I was also looking for some kind of support here. That was dumb....because what I DID was dumb.
Will be back when I have my head screwed on properly...:thumbsup:

locked ( and I'm sure deleted ). Last Sunday night, I tried cocaine ( or some people here thought it was actually speed, whatever ) for the first time after a long night at the bar. Some people here were upset at my decision and some were offended. I had to post this because I want these people to know that I simply am not the kind of person who will walk into a bar on the corner here and snort something that they are not sure what it is on any given day. We were all smashed that day...myself in particular. I had about eight beers ( and various shots of crap ) I let myself go, and agreed to do two line of "coke" with a friend of mine through the bar.
This post was meant as an apology to anyone who was offended by it, or lost loved ones due to drug use......I had no idea it would lead to this

I posted out of concern. My concern is based on completely personal reasons and i am aware that YOU are the only person who can make decisions for your life. I only wanted to share "my perspective".

That said i don't think you owe an apology. Your entitled to walk your own path. I don't know you but you sound like an insightful and sensitive person. There are a lot of things in life that "we" can relate to our own experiences. That doesn't mean that each and every one of us is not entitled to experience these things for ourselves. I guess what i am trying to say, is that my post, and i suspect many others, were written with the sincere hope that you would not end up in the painful places i have seen others end up. It was not meant to be a criticism or judgment of you or your choices. Lord knows i am the last person to pass judgment. Something about sweeping your own porch.... :hug:

It sounds like you had a very human moment - a lapse of judgment, if you will - and needed to gain some perspective. I see no problem with that, but I must say, you were a big enough person to take a step back and assess the situation from an objective stance and that is a rare quality. I did see your post on Sunday, but I personally wasn't in a position to be offended. However, I understand why a few would be, and it really took courage for you to offer such this apology.

I saw your thread only in the beginning...didn't realize it got rough. No apology needed here. You're not the only one to find yourself in that situation and no doubt people wanted to share their experience. Hope you don't go away too long.
