As you may be aware, I have used this forum now and again both to ask for advice on how to get girls to go out with me, and also to vent my frustrations related to this topic. For those of you who have read/replied to my previous posts, I feel that I owe you this one.

Nary a week after swearing off looking for dates for the rest of my college term, I now have what I believe to be a date this friday night. I say "believe to be" because the lines between "dating" and "hanging out" are pretty blurred these days. However, if going ice skating on a friday night with a girl, not in a group outing, is not a date, then I don't know what is. The weird thing is this...

1) Strange timing after throwing up my hands in what I thought was final frustration last week.
2) I think this particular girl honestly and truly likes me.
3) Objectively speaking, she's quite a catch.
4) I'm not attracted to her, *I* just want to be friends.
5) This is putting me in an unexpected position because I don't know how to tell this very nice person, who I think likes me a fair bit (lots of signals) that I don't feel romantically for her.

However, I'm not going to complain, nor am I going to be ungrateful. I'm just glad to know I'm not *totally* repulsive and uninteresting in the romance department :tinfoilhat: So, even though I wish I could get some of those other girls I *am* attracted to to go out with me, I'm going to use this as a learning experience and hopefully build on it in the future. Plus, I'm not going to be mean or childish and just hide under my bed Friday and hope she doesn't find me.

I just wanted to let anybody here who posted in my other threads know I'm not a lost cause :) and that I really do have a life besides posting on the internet!

You may find your suddenly develop an attraction for her.
