Greg, the Yellow Wiggle, is going to quit
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20061129.wwiggles1129/BNStory/Entertainment/home

The hugely popular children's group The Wiggles is expected this week to announce the departure of its lead singer because of a serious illness, media reports said Wednesday.

The Australian supergroup has reportedly scheduled a press conference for Thursday in the western city of Perth to make a “major announcement relating to members of the group,” according to the Sydney Morning Herald, Australian Associated Press and the online edition of Sydney's The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

The reports said the group was likely to announce the departure of the “Yellow Wiggle,” Greg Page, who has been frequently absent from touring since undergoing a double hernia operation in December.

The 34-year-old known for his bright yellow T-shirt has been undergoing medical treatment since June after experiencing fainting spells and lethargy, the reports said.

The Wiggles are very nice guys who truly care about kids. Wishing Greg a quick recovery.

4. GREG SUCKS!
He clearly is just riding the talent of Murray and Jeff. Anthony is like the Ringo of the group.

Sorry just kidding. I have come to learn to love the Wiggles-Josie loves them and she has almost the whole "hands in the air/rockaby the bear..." song down pat.

At first it was pretty strange to see the Wiggles but there is nothing there other than just fun for the kids with a little learning thrown in.

Good luck Greg.

6. You'd be surprised
At first I thought it was strange to see grown men dancing around like that but it does grow on you. My kid loves it and that is the only thing she watches (that we let her) other than Sesame Street.

Colors and movement and repitition great stimulation for the kids.

Fruit salad yummy yummy

9. Their songs are pretty catchy!
We went through a "Wiggles phase" with my daughter.

I swear, my wife and I knew every lyric to every Wiggles' song by heart.

Bow to your partner (g'day mate)
Then we turn around (YIPPEE!!)
Hands in the air
Rockabye your bear
Bear's now asleep (ssh ssh ssh)
Bear's now asleep (ssh ssh ssh)

8. You OBVIOUSLY cannot point your fingers and do the twist.
LOL..just a little "Wiggles humor".
I felt the same way as you do when I first saw them, but my kids turned into Wiggles fiends and I have to admit, they do grow on you. My oldest is 12 and still likes the Wiggles.

7. Sammy Hagar set to step in to replace Greg
He will, however, insist on switching shirts with the current red Wiggle

He did most of their singing, but they have chosen a nice replacement, his understudy otherwise known as The Opera Guy. He has been with them for 10 years as a dancer and performer. They really do have fun with the kids. My family has seen them in concert 3 times. They are very fun and extremely nice individuals. They have been Australia's top grossing act for the past few years now and they deserve it for all the happiness they have brought my kids. I hate to be sappy about this but he will be missed. Here are some photos from the last concert we saw from August.

The whole bunch in The Big Red Car

Greg Page

Captain Feathersword

Greg in the audience visiting the special needs children in attendance. Very poor picture in bad light.

It's a big production

They are all musicians even though they use much recorded music in concerts because in concert it is all about the dancing!

Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, brought his family to the last show in town.

And if anyone again wants to know why I like The Wiggles, here is (are) the reasons!
Dancing in the ailes!

See you later Greg...get well.
