How good is Pirates of the Caribbean 2?
I enjoyed the first one, but have no clue about the 2nd... though, I would worry about that the unique-ness of Capt Jack Sparrow / Johnny Depp would be lost in 2nd movie (and the 3rd coming up)

I'm thinking about getting the DVD next week is why I ask.

No major spoilers, please.

2. I enjoyed it immensely.
Jack was...Jack. He was still unique.

It's longer than the first movie, though. Quite a bit longer.

3. I thought it was entertaining and "actiony"
I love Jack Sparrow and I think the character remains interesting. The special effects and bad guys are very cool.

4. Messy.
I think it suffers from too many cooks spoiling the soup. They revisited every character from the first one, and at the same time set up material for the third one.

Still, it's very entertaining.

12. Agreed, messy
Harder to follow than the first one. Consequently (for me at least) a bit less entertaining. I loved the moment (in the first movie) of that last gold piece dropping into the treasure chest--excellent denouement.

5. eh
not as good as the first one IMO, too many plot changes. But the visuals were pretty good.

6. Enjoyable but flawed
Can't really elaborate without spoiling it. If I were you I'd just rent it and then decide if it was worth buying. (Unless of course I was one of those people still mad at Disney for their roll in that Path to 911 BS)

10. My daughter is almost 4 years old
It's hard to avoid Disney being a parent of a girl that age. Last week, she changed her name to "Snow White"... this week, her name is "Captain Jack". When I told her that Captain Jack was a man, she told me she's a girl Captain Jack.

7. It was just as entertaining as the first
Johnny is obviously enjoying every second.

Make sure you sit through the credits.

8. I enjoyed it immensely.
Although it was 2 hours and 30 minutes long, the time went fast. There were a couple of scenes (most notably the sword fight on the water wheel) that I thought were almost cartoonish, I didn't like Commodore Norrington's "fall-from-grace" but never-the-less it was a 'rollicking good tale' with a surprise or two.

9. It's as good as the first one:
That is, it's not exactly "art" but it's entertaining and the special effects and performances are good.

11. I loved it!
Just go along for the ride when you watch the movie and don't try to think too much about a serious plot.
And pay attention to the last minute of the movie... you'll love it!

13. Be warned: they're trying to go for the Lord Of The Rings crowd
POTC 2 would have been great if some of the fight scenes had been cut to about 1/3 of their length. Otherwise, it's really good. Better than the first.
