We got 8" of it. And these fuckers in Lubbock can not drive on the ice. Took me 45 minutes to drive to work when that is a 10 minute trip. But the snow is pretty, just wish I was home and could enjoy it.

2. I used to drive past Lubbock when I had my past job.
I remember a good BBQ place there, can't remember the name, always stopped there on every trip.

I lost time but had to stop.

Eight inches of snow, fun driving.

8. It was a blast driving this morning.
To many people think that if it says 4 wheel drive, they can drive as fast as they want. But all 4 wheel drive means is now you have four wheels spinning instead of two. I saw nearly 10 wipe outs on the way to work. I drive a Mustang and I did not slip once.

3. Oh God! Can't wait until tomorrow!
I live in Central IN, so it hasn't hit here yet, but I know what you mean about not knowing how to drive on ice. You would think people here would remember, but they definitely have long term memory problems in that regard.

Be careful out there! :hi:

Wednesday was in the 50's, but by Wednesday night we dropped 30 degrees in a few hours. It was 50 at 5 PM, and by 8 PM we were at 26.

12. I'm getting the snow right now.
Edited on Thu Nov-30-06 07:09 PM by xmas74
They've called for anywhere from 12-16 inches for my area. They said that once it starts falling expect 2 inches an hour for anywhere from 6 up to 12 hours.

It started an hour ago and the yard is nicely covered already.

(Change the snow amount. they are now saying some areas will get 20 inches and that it could get even higher tonight)

in Amarillo. Almost got stuck at the end of my block going to work. And I don't have an SUV, just a Buick PA that got to spend its earlier years in sunny Florida. It was slow going and coming home. Not looking forward to tomorrow AM, gotta go to work and hubby has dr appt at the VA.
You all be safe !

20. ahh, yes....I grew up near Lubbock Texas
nothing sadder than watching cars helplessly doing donuts on the loop. I ended up moving to ND, there is 3 inches of snow (it's been a dry winter so far, usually there is a foot) on the ground and ice on the streets, and it's here to stay until April. At least it will go away in a few days there, here it's below zero from December to Feb.

She hates the snow. but today they were not spinning around on the loop, it was on Slide rd., 50th st., and Indiana ave. the nuts were out in force today.

Their dog went out to go potty this morning and immediately with out going shot off the ground and ran back for the house. Dad had to take her out in the yard and tell her to go.

It was a blast. Tonight was cars getting tangled together. Saw a SUV that had hit a guard rail and they made the front wheels do the splits.

36. I remember in 2000 when the weatherliars said we'd get maybe
1 to 3 inches of snow. We got 19 inches of snow that time. Lucky for me, I was home. The power was out for 4 days straight. After pulling my "Here's Johnny" (from The Shining) cabin fever bit, I finally went outside and enjoyed it...had to put on three layers of clothes INSIDE. Never mind how cold it was outside.
