we have successfully completed the pagan ritual |
|
of decorating our Christmas tree...please say a prayer of thanksgiving that my four year old did not break any of the precious heirloom ornaments that we entrusted her with this year.

For several years I purposly decorated my tree with small beanies and stuffed bears specifically so if the cats climbed it they would not break anything. They never did, so I switched up. Now I have a couple of different cats. Murphy's law may have an effect.......

3. we lost our cat of 16 years this year |
|
so that is not the reason for the raised ornaments...it is the 1.5 year old little human that is the biggest fear...

sorry about your cat. That is rough. I have a 12 year old furface myself.

5. When you have little ones around, you can put the tree in a play |
|
pen and let the kids go free range to keep them all safe. Another tactic is to put the tree on a sheet of plywood raised about a foot off the ground. That only works if your kids aren't climbers.
