Poll question: An Animal Lover's Poll.
I'm curious about something. I see DUers posting pictures of new animals regularly, and many have had theirs for years. My Children were raised around dozens of dogs, hundreds of exotic birds, and herds of horses.
Many of them came and went to other homes, but others became part of the family. I'm wondering whether you tell yours they are adopted?

1. We had a parrot once who was convinced she was one of the kids.
She was the shortest and greenest one.

2. Mine all adopted ME
My 12 year old cat thinks she owns me; if I stay up late she gets annoyed and will come and grab my leg with her paw.

5. Hmm, cats will "try" that. You have to stop it the first time...
Since you didn't you will go through life a vassal to a cat.

3. THEY own US.
There is no other explanation for obeying a creature who INSISTS on breakfast at 5:15 AM. At least 3 of them will eat NORMALLY. His Highness Prince "Sneezer" (our 13 year old mix) has come to believe that anything not served to him on the bed (He sleeps with us; the only one of the 4 we let do that regularly as space is a premium) is no longer worth his attention.

I MUST take a picture of this phenomenon.
