BREAKING: Paris insists she and Britney are just friends (not lovers)

Paris Hilton has a message for her fans: she and Britney Spears are not lovers.

The partying heiress and her underwearless new best friend have come under increased speculation lately as they romp around hot spots together. The buzz grew louder when Spears' hubby of 55 hours suggested that the "Oops I Did It Again" songstress likes women, saying, “She found other girls attractive, yes, but we never did anything about it.”

In a recent photograph, Hilton looked very much like she was stroking Spears' upper thigh. And another report showed Hilton kissing another woman and suggested that Hilton and Spears are more than just good friends.

Now Hilton’s rep is looking to put an end to any talk. “That is just silly,” he said, adding, “They are friends and you will continue to see them together. Paris thinks the world of her.”

If only there were more at the link:

Question is, if they were lovers, would Paritney have sex tapes?

3. Sure, they say that now. When a new breed of Mutant Pubic Lice takes over the Earth, we'll know why.

7. Now I don't know what to get you for Christmas.
Did the Lesbian Cheerleaders (TM) ever do a tape? I suppose not, you'd surely have started a thread about it.

10. I think it'd be cool if Paritney were a couple. Lots of young folks look
up to them (God knows why) and it might make it easier for some of them to be more comfortable with their sexual preferences.

And no, to the best of my knowledge, there's no Cheerleaders Wild in Tampa tape.

However, if they wanted to make one...

Psst...girls...call me.

15. Actually, I think Paritney would be a huge step back.
Enough people already think Bi=easy and they have reputations for (I am going to put this as nicely as I can) being absolutely nasty skanks so they would only reinforce that. Now if two famous women who were well regarded and ideally considered both pretty and a bit brainy got together, I think that'd potentially be a huge step forward.

16. I guess I can see that. However, do you think that their 13-ish
year old "fan base" thinks that? Am I off on their fan base, maybe?

I do agree, though. I think that when Degeneres and Heche (?) were made a big deal of, it was a step forward. That, or I'm pathetically naive.

19. I think their fan base is more pervy old dudes.
I do think more out women in entertainment would be wonderful, I just think that when you're a famous member of a minority you unfortunately get held to a higher standard as reflecting that minority group and you have to be above reproach or risk setting those associated with you back. It sucks, but it's true. And that's why if Paris or Britney is bi, I sort of hope it stays quiet.

Now if some woman in entertainment who is beautiful and smart and well regarded were to come out, I think that could to a lot of good. I'm thinking somebody like Natalie Portman, who is lovely and a good actress and well educated- somebody like her in a relationship with a woman would create a much better perception than somebody like Britney, who isn't especially talented or smart and really doesn't even seem pretty anymore.

23. I wonder if what you are talking about is sexual preference or sexism
Because I don't ever see this standard being applied to gay or bi men when they come out. I don't recall anyone calling Lance Bass a 'skank' for instance, when he came out recently. (Of course the point could be made that he didn't expose his genitalia). I am bi, and I do not feel that Britney and Paris' coming out would 'set me back' in any way. I don't really feel that the 'Girls Gone Wild' brand of bisexuality that is so popular these days belongs in the same category with legitimate sexual minorities like GLBT people. But if those two are together, then I wish them the same freedom to express their sexuality openly as I would any other GLBT person. I think we are at a point in the game where we can stop hoping that only the 'nice girls' come out publicly. I hope so, anyway.

26. I guess where we are really depends.
Certainly a lot of Americans are ready for equal and equally imperfect GLBT people, but there are a whole lot who aren't.

Is it okay to ask some people to be less than themselves so that others may be themselves? If there's an easy answer, I don't know it.

28. No, it isn't okay
What I feel gays are asking of this society is to stop being assigned by heterosexuals into some shadow side of the heterosexual psyche and instead for our sexuality to be seen as a legitimate form of human expression. We couldn't be seen as moral in the past because those who claimed to be heterosexual judged their desires, and thus our own, as immoral and legislated against us. Sexuality got split up for whatever reason into good and bad, and those of us on the wrong side of the Kinsey scale ended up with fewer or no rights. There are enough 'good' lesbians out there who probably won't ever set foot out of the closet...Jodie Foster is a prime example. I don't think Britney or Paris can do a thing good or bad for gay/bi people. I just hope they have the freedom to express it if they really are 'coming out' (which I highly doubt).

18. I don't see the logic in this 'step-forward/step-back' thinking
If heterosexuals aren't judged on the merits of Hilton's and Spear's sexual 'morality' (since at this point they are still presumed to be heterosexual), then why should bisexuals be?

20. Because everybody knows they know hetero people.
Not everybody knows they know GLBT people, so there's a perception to judge a group by a few people sometimes. People used to do the same for racial minorities, but that seems to be taboo so if they still do it they do it quietly.

21. well then that logic that you can judge the whole by the behavior of a few
is what needs to go. Because if GLBT people try to keep up the appearance of some pre-conceived idea of sexual morality to curry favor with heterosexuals we will always lose. We have every right to be just as immoral as heterosexuals are.

25. I realize that.
But the natural progression of finding equality seems to be that people have to present themselves as better as the in group for a while before they can be perceived as equal and at times equally flawed. It sucks, but I have a feeling that it's an inevitable step.

27. actually
gays have made the strides we have this whole time while being misrepresented in the media over and over again. The pics of any gay pride march or gathering that show up in the media are usually the most sensationistic and not representative of any but a small minority, but that's what gets print, and yet here we are, on the verge of marriage. I really think what is going on here with regards to Paris/Britney has a lot more to do with sexism/misogyny and some weird kind of throwback to Victorian moral judgement than it does sexual preference.

12. I think it's kind of cute
the two of them pairing up like that. It shows Paris has a little compassion, having been through the sex tape thing and wanting to be supportive of someone who looks like she's about to go through the same thing. That is one heck of a micro-mini Britney is wearing in that pic, lol.

We find that Brittany is attracted to women and he never tried to get her in a 3-way. What a moron. Who wouldn't prefer women after being married to him?

I'm gonna retain the memory of all this celebrity gossip bullshit every time I hear George Bush go "The terrorists hate our freedom." You know what? I hate your freedom. That's all you've done with it? You are ASSHOLES, man!
