Deer Antlers, Handgun Used In Road Rage Incident

FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Two men were arrested on battery charges Thursday after a road rage incident led one to attack the other with deer antlers and then a handgun, authorities said.

Ronny White, 35, and Keith Ransford, 23, both of Ft. Pierce, were booked at the St. Lucie County jail for alleged aggravated assault. Both were later freed on bond, said sheriff's Sgt. Andy McIntosh.

A telephone message left for White was not immediately returned on Thursday. Ransford's telephone rang unanswered.

"They got into a first altercation and the one guy tries to attack the second guy with deer antlers," McIntosh said. "It's not an everyday occurrence."

White and Ransford allegedly got into an altercation while driving along U.S. 1 in Ft. Pierce, McIntosh said. The men stopped, and White allegedly attempted to attack Ransford with the deer antlers. Both men got back in their cars, crashed into each other, then stopped again about a block away, according to the sheriff's report.

Ransford then allegedly rammed his vehicle into White's car. White pulled out a handgun and fired one shot into Ransford's vehicle, the report stated. Neither men suffered serious injuries.

An investigation was ongoing.

Good luck in Boulder, for however long it lasts. I lived there for a few months myself. And now look at me. In Florida. But I did love ditching class and hanging out all day on Pearl Street. Good times. I think. That whole semester I spent there is a little hazy.

I only lived there 3 1/2 years. So I'm hoping I don't fall down that slippery slope! I have family here in Colorado, and none in Florida, so I'm also hoping that will keep me from the terrible curse of the ex-Floridians.

I make no apologies for the weirdness of my state. In fact, it's why I love this place. Sure, there's the off chance of being attacked by someone armed with a rack of antlers, but hey, I'm just as crazy as the next guy down here. They come at me with antlers, I'll counterattack with a belaying pin or a payphone or a dragon. That'll learn'em.

I love it here! It is the wackiest state in the union...yesterday in Key West there was this guy obviously inebriated, wearing a Santa hat, on a bicycle, riding along the road pointing at tourists and hollering HO! then a pause, then a HO!, then a pause, then a HO! Funny thing is that is really not that abnormal down here:rofl:
