I see a guy driving down the road yesterday drinking a beer.... |
|
....in a huge truck that could do lots of damage, I called 911 to report it and gave the tag number to the person or officer taking the call who sounded extremely annoyed that I called 911 to report something like that. Asked if the guy was speeding or crossing lanes and when I said "no" the operator said, "Well we don't have a police officer around every corner so there's probably nothing we can do", "He'll probably be at home or have turned down a different road by the time an officer can even be dispatched".
I have a friend with the local media and I just got off the phone with her about the whole incident. No interest there either so please try to have a safe holiday everyone :(

you could hit a bump and spill your drink.
That's alcohol abuse.

I should have seen that one coming
Or the joke where the cop pulls a couple over tells the guy driving "you were speeding sir", the guy says "no I wasn't", the wife says "officer, you really don't want to start an argument with my husband after he's been drinking".

That would make me crazy. And like hell there isn't anything they could do. I've seen them come knocking on a door when the vehicle's in the garage...because someone gave a tag number and they tracked it down.
Sheeeeesh.

CNN interviewing Texas residents at toll booths about the new open container law there a few years ago. Another guy said the same thing but added "with a loaded handgun in my glove compartment, this ain't america"

I've witnessed, on many occassions after work, people buying a single big can of beer in the convenience store. The clerk is nice enough to put the can in a little paper bag that makes drinking it "on the go" easy. Once in the car, beer is cracked open and I'm sure it's gone by the time the person gets home.

6. It's possible that maybe it was only one beer |
|
Been there, done that in my juvenile days but not anymore and not for over twelve years since I myself had a DUI offense. Now, maybe I'm too paranoid but I don't know if that person has had one or ten and is he/she going to kill someone in the next five minutes.

9. You seriously can't expect cops to follow up on every drinking redneck in a pickup |
|
How would they ever manage to pull over every law-obiding black driver and search their vehicles for drugs?
