How do you environmentally safely dispose of candles? |

Edited on Sat Dec-16-06 02:25 PM by Fla Dem
I have a number of old pillar candles that have been burned as much as possible. But that still leaves a lot of candle wax to throw away. I keep hanging on to them because I don't know how to get rid of them. Does anyone know how candles can be disposed of? If I just throw them in the trash they will just end up in a land fill somewhere and probably never decompose.
I am not crafty, so melting them down and making new candles is not an option.
Is it OK to just throw out old candles?
Thanks

I think it the wrong kind of wax. Actually, if you have a fireplace, you can use some of the wax to help start your fire.
