When I came back to the US after 20 years in Europe (where I had an excellent credit rating), I discovered I had no ability to get credit. On one occasion, a company was on the verge of giving me a credit card, when they discovered they'd accidently done a credit check on a person with a similir name. Turns out the person they checked was a total deadbeat with $60,000 in debt and months of arrears, but the company would have still given him a card. To me, with no debt, cash in the bank, my own car (paid for) and a well-paid job: "sorry, buddy, you aren't on the system."

yes, I do use a Mac. It's a piece of software called Meshwork. It's a 3D modeler that I use mostly to do texturing work. :hi:
