I had to go pick it up last night, strap it to the roof and drive the danged thing home, since I'm the only one in the house with a sensible car. (Note to self: Sell the wagon, buy a Vespa, never have to haul trees, insulation or sacks of shit for the lawn again.) Only the one I picked out is a smidgen too tall and the trunk is too wide for our tree stand, so now I have to go get something to straighten that out. As if I didn't have enough shit to do.

I really don't see the point when it'll be out on the curb next week.

3. Only one though
She should get a two-seater sports car. Enough room for her and LeftyKid, and everyone else can just get knotted. :)

5. But Leftykid would still want the tree
Kids tend to have a thing for strangers who bring presents. ;)

4. He doesn't care. This is for the 22 and 57 year old kids in the house.
One year we set all of LeftyKid's presents under a 2" wooden tree from his train set and he was happy.

2. If we don't keep a lit tree during the solstice...
then the sun will never come back and it will be the end of the world.

You don't want the world to end, LeftyMom, or do you?

Hmm...

8. The 57 year old kid is pretty sure that'd make the baby Jesus cry.
Sometimes we have to humor the children in our lives.

9. What a waste.
What a waste of a good tree. What a waste of your time. What a waste of your effort and patience. What a waste of wear and tear and gas in your car.

:(

I hope it at least turns out to be a beautiful and inspiring Christmas tree or something.

I could have let it slide, but he posted a pic of a chest of drawers and that's just mean. So we're pouting for real pics. Again.

21. I just came back from an awesome holiday party.
My largest client rented this amazing hall here in Manhattan and had over a thousand employees attend. The food was amazing, simple but well prepared, and there was plenty of vegetarian/vegan food. The had great live music and a DJ. It was open bar, and they had a lot of non-alcoholic options without having to drink sugar-water all night.

I'm in a hell of a lot of pain because I actually did some dancing tonight. But painkillers are my friends, so I'm holding up.

Damn, I had fun. :)

18. I think this might have something to do with St. Boniface
Edited on Tue Dec-19-06 10:42 PM by JVS
He chopped down a sacred tree to tell the German pagans that Thor sucked and that they would/should become christians. They killed him, he became a saint, trees keep getting chopped by christians to commemorate the arrival of Christ.

19. That's why I have a fake tree
Save the tree, save your sanity. And it still looks pretty decent even 11 years later, I think.
