Police arrested a 40-year-old Lincoln man Monday afternoon for allegedly assaulting a man at work with a meat hook.
Police say Hoang Uong, 40, 1022 A St., Apt. 5, had been at work at Premium Protein Products, 4611 W. Adams Ave., when the got into an argument in the break room at about 4:15 p.m. with another worker over something the other worker had said about him, according to Officer Katherine Finnell.
She said that’s when Uong allegedly grabbed a meat hook and started punching and cutting the 34-year-old man with it. Someone separated the two, but not before the victim got deep lacerations on his back, several cuts on his back, face and ear and puncture wounds on his forehead and hairline in back.
Finnell said there was no indication if the victim sought medical treatment for his wounds.
Uong left, but police found him and arrested him near 27th and S less than an hour later.
He was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault.
