1. This Week!
ready for it to end.

It's had it's ups and downs

It's had it's clarifying moments

It's had it's undeniable tension

It's had it's undeniable sadness

When it's over, there will be more of the above, but in my own environs it is less overwhelming to me.

sorry about your snot!

this too shall pass as will my problems. It's the waiting and uncertainty that make it hard.

:loveya:

because I'd awaken in the middle of the night with cat butt in my face.

12. one thing I have found helps is..
Soothing and cleaning to the Nose:

Heat up some clean water, 1/2 cup, in a cup in a microwave. Not too hot.

Throw in a dab (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon)of iodized or sea salt.

Mix up.

Suck into a plastic syringe that is clean. Could be a 2 or 3 cc type or smaller. DO NOT use a needle on this thing.

Stand up, lean head back, insert syringe into one nostril.
Close other nostril with other hand. Open mouth to breathe, and swallow the stuff.

Repeat on other side.

Stop when you've had enough, and blow nose.

25. Thanks for the tip!
I'll try that. I can remember gargling with warm salt water for a sore throat when I was a kid. I can't remember whether it helped or not; but it beats more drugs...

the liquid and the guck will drain out the other nostrils so you don't have to swallow it.

here's a formula for the isotonic solution to use

mix 1/4-teaspoon salt in an 8-ounce glass of warm water and add a pinch of baking soda

13. take this little hint
Chapstick. It works like a charm on a sore, runny nose. Easy to carry, too.

21. I WAS tired of snot ...
And coughing up god-knows-what, and fever, and sneezing so loud even the cats got out of the room.

The only good words I have are "it ends". Much better this week.

Very hot showers help. Just standing in the steam seems to cut through a bunch of bodily nasties.
