Dude - there are so many palm readers in Los Angeles! |
|
It seems everywhere I go there's another tiny storefront marked "Ms. Dippy - Reads Palms - Tells YOUR FUTURE TODAY!", or another blanket-sitter on Venice boardwalk peddling their nonexistent 'skill' to the gullible tourists.
Why do you think that is?
Is it because there are so many coming here with dreams of 'making it', who just HAVE to KNOW that they're the next Pitt/Jolie to blow into town?
Is it because a lot of those types blew in, failed, and need to make a buck on the newbie wannabe-stars?
Is it something in our water? (Does MTBE cause brain damage, such as the belief in unproven mystical nonsense?)
Anyone else in SoCal notice the prevalence of "psychics" and other woo-woo-ery around here? Why is it so popular?
(Why do I care? Bored, mostly, and just making conversation after pondering the question last night.)
