Edited on Tue Dec-26-06 10:47 PM by Trajan
I wish I could post the video here, like in the Political Video forum, but I don't think it is possible .... so check this fella out .. He is amazing ....

Andy McKee plays 'Drifting', his own composition, and in his own unique style ....

3. all 4ths, i think
this is the tuning preferred by people who play like this, stanley jordan, e.g.

many of these types like playing a chapman stick instead of a standard guitar.

5. I think the three lowest strings ...
form a 1-5-8 in open strum, because he was laying across all three bass strings and getting a strong consonance .. kinda like a D tuning .. but perhaps modified in the treble strings as well ...

4. Its hard to tell exactly WHAT tuning ...
But I think I noticed a strong chordal tuning when he played open strings ...

I have NEVER tried to play with my left hand over the fretboard like that .... I use my extended thumb at times, but never crossed over like that ....

9. When I first saw Havens in Woodstock ...
I thought he as just being lazy, and didnt want to finger stop the chords ...

I eventually recognized he wanted the volume and power, which he got from that style ...
