We could always get KamaAina to smash his Abita bottle by bringing up A. N. Roquelaure
for those of you playing along at home, "A. N. Roquelaure" is the nom de plume used by none other than Anne Rice for certain works not considered family-friendly enough for the Lounge.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Rice#Writing_career

She completed her first book, Interview with the Vampire, in 1973 and published it in 1976. This book would be the first in Rice's popular Vampire Chronicles series, which includes 1985's The Vampire Lestat and 1988's The Queen of the Damned. Rice has also published adult-oriented fiction under the pen name Anne Rampling, and has written explicit sado-masochistic erotica as A.N. Roquelaure.

All we had to to was mention that Ms. Roquelaure/Rice bailed on New Orleans shortly before Katrina, then duck as that golden-amber bottle of Abita sailed out the window towards the fire escape...

1. i don't know if "bailed" is the right word
her husband died and i'll be honest, i think she just broke and needed to get away, she had lived in san francisco many years before, before she was famous

i don't know what to make of all the jesus shit

a kind lady and a sincere preservationist

a sincere S/Mer i don't know, but i don't think she was using the community, i think she was respectful or tried to be

she does try to be honest in her own right

fought for years to stop tom cruise from starring in "her" movie, when he did it well to everyone's surprise, she frankly admitted she was wrong and he'd exceeded expectation, most people can never in public eye admit they're wrong

2. It's a copycat. I needed a plot device to get the Abita bottle out the window, is all.
and it had to be somehow Rice-related. Remember, I myself "bailed" a lot longer ago than she did.

P.S. Next week at this time, the Abita bottles (or contents thereof) will be going down my neck rather than out the window! Details:

After that, the incessant (Mom would say "obsessive") NOLA posts will at least from experience rather than distant memory.
