Do you spell check every post? |
|
I'm sorry if this was already done; I may have missed it.
I do. Now that the ability is there, I'm almost fanatical about it, because the few times I won't will be when there actually is a misspelled word. Although it did change "rotweiller" to "rototiller" in one of my posts, which made it complete nonsense until I fixed it.

When I started reading my own posts and seeing what I was overlooking in my haste! Absolutely embarassing. I've really been showing my Arkansas public education.

or if I'm PWI (Posting While Intoxicated). The fingers do funny things when you're drunk/stoned/fucked-up.

7. Nope. Refuse to use it. Dammit. |

Spelling bee regional champ (1963); copy chief of my college paper (1974); inveterate (and invertebrate) editor. Spell check is for wimps. Might be getting old, and might be unemployed, but I'll be damned if I will concede my pride in my spelling ability to an infernal, impersonal machine that can't tell a contraction from a salutation. Down with spell check! Up with literacy!

And almost every time I have no misspelled words. Every time I see a misspelled word in a post I want to scream at the poster, Spell check, you idiot but I don't.
