At 2AM this morning, I heard what I thought was a fire truck. |
|
I got up to take a look, and it was flatbed tow truck getting removing a (legally) parked car. Behind it was a police car, and behind it was a car from the city parking authority. I don't believe repo men work such hours, and if the car were being siezed as evidence, that would explain the police but not the parking authority. A super-rush repair job? Then there wouldn't be any need for the police OR the parking authority. If they thought the job could be pulled under cover of night, I'm sure I'm not the only one the sound of the tow truck motor and flashing lights awakened. I'm mystified.

2. Perhaps there is a simple explanation |
|
For example, although the car was legally parked it may have been stolen. It may have been parked there for days and gotten a bootlock on one of the wheels from the Parking Authority that needed to be removed before the police and the tow truck removed it for evidence.
But I don't know.

it could be many things. there could be a host of legal reasons why the car was taken.

Either that car was wanted by the police, or its owner is the world's greatest scofflaw!

4. Repo men like to work those hours |
|
Better chance finding the car at home and owner not awake to dispute. I don't know that they can bring in the police though unless they've been threatened by people they're trying to repossess from or fear getting shot/beaten up.

5. Could have been a DWI/DUI.... |

here they put you in the police car and tow your car away. Not sure though because of a city parking authority car.
