I am in the headache zone. |
|
My head hurts from the time I wake up in the morning until last thing at night. I take daily meds for preventing migraine and meds for aborting the migraine. But the headache never completely goes away. Its so frustrating.

1. What does your doctor say is the cause? |

Nobody knows the cause, really. Most people have specific "triggers" they can avoid, and I do, but I still get migraines. Anger, fatigue, smoke, alcohol, foods can contribute but even when I avoid all triggers I get them. Evem when I am not stressed. I have to keep working so I just work in pain, but I can't eat.

5. We can't give medical advice here, so I was just wondering |
|
what your doctor has told you is the cause of the headaches. I believe that pain of any kind isn't just a spontaneous natural occurrence, that it has to have a cause, and it is a symptom of something. I used to get headaches a lot, then I started reading about aspartame and I quit drinking diet sodas with aspartame - headaches stopped. I was just wondering if your doctor has determined what the cause of the constant headache you have is.

I have my annual neurologist appt next week. Maybe he'll have something new to offer. It used to be worse- I used to end up in the emergency room about 4 times per year after a several day long headache with nausea. That doesn't happen any more.

to her.
She does have to pay out of pocket for it - I think it's around $200-250 per injection (I don't know if it would cost more in the US considering their drug prices).
I hope you find something that works for you. It sounds like hell.

8. I do have a terrific doc |
|
this is my 20th year seeing him...
I know how to treat myself with acupuncture, but its not the sort of thing you can do when you're at work or need to drive home 50 miles.
The migraine meds are expensive, luckily I have insurance now.
