16. Aaaah yes. The laundromat memories....
Nothing like laundromat time to add that certain something to a relationship.:-)

How come Seinfeld never did a laundromat episode? That would have been good for some laughs.

I'm doing a mountain of laundry today. A MOUNTAIN. This is a household of four, two of whom are little kids. Where is all this laundry coming from?

I think it breeds overnight in the laundry room. For that reason, I'm going to start calling it the fucking laundry.

Lightweight. :P

When we had TeenMidlo's friend living here and my FIL, I did 4-5 loads A DAY. And, this is with the largest capacity washer/dryer on the market.

If I still had to go to the laudromat, I'd have to live there. I hate doing laundry. It never ends.

35. Our goddaughter probably has polyamory in her future.
When she was about six, she intimated to me: "I'm gonna have three men. One for cooking, one for cleaning and one for playing." I could only reply, "Well, _now_ you're thinkin'!"

39. She REALLY is a card.
Luisa, who has been raised generally pagan in a state which has mandatory CCD in the public schools, called CMW up one night when she was about six and they had the most, um, interesting conversation.

Luisa: "Götti, what's the deal with Adam and Eve and the snake?"
CMW: "Luisa, that's the kind of thing you should ask your mother."
Luisa: "I ASKED her. She told me to call you. So what's the story?"

Another Luisa story, from shortly after we were married.

Luisa: "You and CMW have a kitten so you don't need to have a baby."
Heidi: "That's true, Luisa. We don't really want any babies, anyway. We have you and Sara to love, too."
Luisa: "CMW can have an operation. My dad had it."

43. You might not think so if she were an every day presence in your life.
Two years ago, Luisa wanted to be a painter so we made an agreement that she could come work in my studio, painting gesso onto canvases. I agreed to pay her to do this on her Wednesday afternoons free from school.

Heidi: "How about 10 francs?"
Luisa: "How about 10 francs an _hour_? I think that is the law."

48. One husband, three kids.
Five beds with sheets and pillowcases, three shower curtains, forty towels and assorted washcloths, thirty-five pairs of underwear a week, about the same number of tops and bottoms. Kitchen rags, rag rugs, bathroom rugs, UNDERSHIRTS (why?) winter jackets, mittens, hats and scarves. Felt boot linings. Occasionally, curtains. All hail whoever it was who invented the automatic clothes washer & dryer.
