My problem is with the people at this IMDB site that think it wasn't so much rape but consensual sex btw a 12yr old and an adult and that's just the way life is. They equate children having sex with adults with adults having sex with adults.

looking for a 'safe haven' to discuss their predilections, I guess. Yeah, that quote you pasted was really creepy. I remember the same thing happening around the Lolita movie when it came out; there was kind of a collective shout from that element as well that 'finally' their point of view was getting fresh air. My feeling is they've compartmentalized the violated part of their own psyche due to abuse they themselves suffered as children so they cannot detect or relate to that part in the psychology of another.
