I'm downloading World of WarCraft, after 700 MB, there's only 8 hours left

Anyway, my 10-day trial starts today, and I have next week off *YAY First official vacation in 4 years!* so will I putz around for a bit just to say I did, or will I turn into Cartman and spend my entire week doing nothing but WoW ?

He had the 10 day trial in December and liked it alot, so we got him the game for Christmas. Yesterday we went to Best Buy and he bought the expansion set that just came out. I think he is addicted.

11. I can relate to that addiction

when I was ten, well, we didn't have anything like this. But when I was about 14, we did have games like Wizardry and The Bard's Tale. I loved Bard's Tale, it was perfect. There were maps where everything was black and you couldn't see anything, and you had to map it out on a pen and paper. The prize for getting through was incredible, which made all those hours worth it.

12. Anyway, I shut off peer-to-peer downloading and

now it's 13 minutes away. P2P is good for some things, but sometimes it's just best to get it from the source. Besides, there was no way for me to throttle the upload speed, so all of my other internet stuff just started to SUCK when my outbound communication to servers that said "yes, I've got it, send me the next packet" got flooded by the P2P version of the download.

Note: Cable modems are most effective when limited to 20 KBps upload, anything more than that - which they are capabel of - really drags down the whole system.
