Poll question: Which Rolling Stones song is better?
THE LAST TIME - 18/03/1965
3 weeks at #1 - 13 weeks on chart

I've told you once and I've told you twice
But you never listen to my advice
You don't try very hard to please me
With what you know it should be easy

Well this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time
I don't know, oh no, oh no

Well I'm sorry girl but I can't stay
Feeling like I do today
There's too much pain and too much sorrow
Guess I'll feel the same tomorrow

Well this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time
I don't know
Oh no, oh no

Well this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time
I don't know
Oh no, oh no

Well I've told you once and I've told you twice
Someone'll have to pay the price
Here's the chance to change your mind
Cuz I'll be gone a long long time

Well this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time
I don't know
Oh no, oh no

Last time baby

(I CAN'T GET NO)SATISFACTION - 09/09/1965
2 weeks at #1 - 12 weeks on chart

I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no

When I'm drivin' in my car, and the man come on the radio
He's tellin' me more and more about some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination

I can't get no
Oh, no, no, no. Hey, hey, hey
That's what I say

I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no

When I'm watchin' my TV and a man comes on and tells me
How white my shirts can be
But, he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke
The same cigarettes as me

I can't get no
Oh, no, no, no. Hey, hey, hey
That's what I say

I can't get no satisfaction, I can't get no girlie action
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no

When I'm ridin' round the world
And I'm doin' this and I'm signin' that
And I'm tryin' to make some girl, who tells me
Baby, better come back, maybe next week
'Cause you see I'm on a losing streak
I can't get no
Oh, no, no, no. Hey, hey, hey
That's what I say
I can't get no, I can't get no
I can't get no, satisfaction
No satisfaction
No satisfaction, no satisfaction
I can't get no...

1. I voted, but I think
other Stones songs are better than both.

3. The story of how Richards wrote Satisfaction is classic
"In the darkness of his room at the Gulf Motel in Clearwater, Florida, Keith Richards awoke from a dream. In that fuzzy shadowland between sleep and wakefulness, an idea was running through his head. Fumbling around, he found the small tape recorder that he always kept nearby. His guitar was on the bed beside him. He took it in his hands, pushed the RECORD button and played a little eight-note riff. Then he fell back asleep until the next morning.

“On the tape you can hear me drop the pick,” he says, recalling those moments in the early hours of May 9, 1965. “The rest is me snoring.”"

Some best inventions happen like that... like pretzels, the toothbrush, sliced bread, condoms, and so on!

4. "The Last Time"
I guess "Satisfaction" is more of a biggie, with the very famous guitar riff and everything. Perhaps I've just heard it too much, to the point that I've gotten sick of it. I think "The Last Time" is a really cool song, though, that I never get tired of.

5. How about the b-side of "The Last Time": "Play with Fire"?
Anyway, limited to the above 2 choices, I'd pick "The Last Time", if only because I've heard "Satisfaction" one too many times (still an excellent song, though).
