How much would it cost a man to have his sperm stored? Why wouldn't an 18yr old kid store his sperm and have a vasectomy? Male birth control.

http://www.thespermbankofca.org/pdf/feeschedule2006.PDFMy guess as to why don't they all do it would be that 18 year old boys generally wouldn't be too excited about having someone take a scalpel to their scrotums. And $200 to store sperm might not be the most alluring way for an 18 year old boy to spend his disposable income. But a fair question, I guess.

is an outpatient snip and 200 bucks a year, why wouldn't you. I'm betting that the wealthy have already figured this out. No Jerry Springer moments, no lost dreams.

I tried to have a vasectomy when I was 21. I couldn't find a doctor that would do it. I was unclear on whether they were prevented from doing it legally or whether they were simply refusing, but I was told repeatedly that until I was 25 or had had three children, they wouldn't do it. (The reaction was vague on the reasons why and didn't clear up even with questioning.)
Since I was not on a crusade at the time, I didn't pursue it. It was hard enough to work up the mental fortitude to request a doctor cut me there, and when I faced resistance, I simply took it as an omen to leave it alone for the time being.
BTW, a vasectomy also isn't free, and I've never had insurance that would pay for it. Perhaps such insurance exists, but I haven't had it, and I doubt an 18 year old would have either, nor is he going to have the cash available to get it done.

I remember in the early 90's my husband(we had been separated for about 6 years) wanted to get one. His doctor told him that he needed my permission??? He told me this, I looked at him, he looked at me and we both busted out laughing. How ludicrous. I gave my "permission".

Sixteen years ago, actually.
Now that you mention it, I recall the permission thing being mentioned as well. The whole thing was insane.
