$15 for pizza delivery seems a little high, but the bus driver salary seems quite right considering that it takes a special license and you don't want bus drivers to need a second job and thus be fatigued.

2. $26/hr? Who are the passengers, convicted felons? |
|
:wow:
Calgary also keeps a balanced budget. Nuts indeed.
Though more money is taken out in the form of taxes in Canada, the tradeoffs sure as hell are worth it in the end.

6. What's the current U.S$:Canadian $ |
|
From what I have been told, Canadian dollars are worth less than American dollars, making wages in some places in Canada rather low. Even if this were U.S. dollars, I am all for people making a living wage. People shouldn't feel lucky that they landed a $10/hour job at a place where they hate the working conditions because their other choice is making at least a couple dollars an hour less or no job at all.

Being a bus driver is hard work.
I ride the bus about 50 percent of the time and I want the driver to be good and well paid.

12. That's what a CDL driver should be making |
|
That's a skilled trade and it isn't easy to learn how to do the job right.
I have a friend here in Ohio who drives a semi rig and makes local deliveries around the city. He only makes $13 an hour. I think that's a crime, but it's the only place that he can get a local job right now. I get paid by the mile and by the stop, but if you break it down it works out to about $20 an hour without overtime benefits (time and a half). I can barely get by on my own with that. My buddy still lives with his mother.
