I waited this long because of what happened. I'm trying just to IMAGINE how a director could MARSHALL thousands of actors into performing, ALL the while doing EVERYTHING ELSE that goes into a movie.

I avoided this movie because of the "incident". AND imagine my consternation: HOW can a WEIRD dude like Mel--------TWO things----------ACT so DRIFTY/dippsy-NUTSO in person, yet control the whole movie thing so completely? and 2) be so SENSITIVE to alien cultures, YET be such an idiot-Asshole about what EVERY FUCKING PERSON should be AWARE of?????

AND it bothers me-------what's his whole VIOLENCE thing. ALL of his effing movies are TOTALLY violent---------Braveheart, Patriot, whatever.

Yeah, I'm aware of all of his problems. So THIS movie---------it's as good as "Apocalypse Now" (or better).

Now: There were COUNTLESS scenes that made me wonder, but the WHOLE FUCKING MOVIE kept me entralled----------------O. K.?????? That's more than I can say about NINETY-NINE effing percent of ANY effing movie.
