The funniest Chinese fortune evah |
|
A friend and I went out for Chinese food tonight, and as is customary, got two fortune cookies at the end of the meal.
Mine was pretty typical: "look for an opportunity on Thursday". (I'm hoping it wasn't this Thursday, owing to the day being almost over...)
Hers read: "an alien of some sort will be appearing to you shortly".
I wonder what the hell they have to put in their food to make that one come true... :yoiks:
I think we burned all our dinner calories off laughing... :silly:

I just love those little fortune cookies, and their fortunes!
True story: When I retired from my job, my coworkers gave me a party at a Chinese restaurant.
At the end of the meal, we all had fortune cookies. Guess what my fortune said!
You have clearly enjoyed every day at your job...
I kid you not!
I wonder if it was a plant?

Sounds like it, Peggy!
I think they're fun, but we've never read anything so bizarre in one of them. We just couldn't stop laughing...:hi:

|
once, hey I'm always up for a free dinner, anywhoo it was to PFChangs. So we get our fortune cookies and it reads "A short person will soon come into your life" no joke.
I firmly believe he gave it to the server beforehand.

20. Another true fortune cookie story |
|
Three and a half years ago my husband and I were preparing to travel to China to bring our daughter home. The night before we left, we decided to go to our favorite Chinese restaurant, because it wasn't like we weren't going to have enough Chinese food to eat in the 2 weeks to come. Anyway we got to the cookies and, I kid you not - his read "You are going on a long trip." and mine read "Someone will be added to your life."
