I think they're curmudgeonly busy-bodies who have nothing better to do than judge what other people do for entertainment.

2. Idiots, and close-minded |

I don't read them myself, and the movies are so-so, but I listened to the first book on a long trip (book on tape) and thought it was very good. Very creative, well written, imaginative.
I'm not much into magic and fantasy except for Harry Turtledove's books.

I like what I like and they like what they like.
Shouldn't be any kind of a deal.

4. Same as my reaction to people who mock anyone's choice of entertainment |
|
:eyes:
The Potter books are not my cup of tea but certainly a lot of people love them. I enjoy large non-fiction historical works and I know plenty of people who think I'm nuts because of that.
To each his own.

:hi: My reaction is that it's obvious those adults have not read the books. If they had, they'd love them! :)

This is a personal attack, and a calling out....
Both are contrary to DU rules.
