I'll try to check in when I can find a local library here and there. I'm heading from Seattle this afternoon to La Conner, then up to Canada- the Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound. Long boat trip! I'm taking a whole month off work. Can't believe it!
I'll miss seeing baseball games, especially My Mariners.
I hope everyone at DU has a marvelous August.

I'm a federal worker too, but it sure took me longer than it did him to collect enough vacation time to take a month off...
At least I won't have to watch TV clips of him at his pig ranch. Blech!

Especially with the softwood lumber thing ... and the beef ban. The provinces with neo-conservative governments that used to praise the Shrub to the skies have been hit hardest, too ...
And since when has Bush spent as much as a dime of his own money in Canada? One more reason why we appreciate you deciding to spend your hard-earned dough up here ... (remember, for you, one dollar is $1.30!)

I'm in the local library. What a neat town. I watched last night's White Sox-Mariners game in a local tavern. Oh my. What are we going to do with Freddy?
The weather is still nice, but not as hot as last week. I did my chart work and navigation this morning and we leave tomorrow at 7 am for Canada. Rocky the cat is adjusting nicely.
