Food related injuries? "Orange finger" "pistachio finger" |
|
I had "orange finger" for several days this week-You know when you are peeling an orange and a bit of the rind gets under your fingernail and cuts you and some of the juice gets in there OW I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS
I get something like that with pistachios too.
Man I hate that.

whenever I slice jalepenos to make tamales, my fingers burn.
And burn.
And burn.
Usually lasts for a day or two.

10. I did the Jalepeno Eyes thing once. I grabbed the milk out of |
|
the fridge and, gross as it sounds, rinsed my eyes out with it. It stopped the pain immediately. When I told my eye Dr. about it he said it was the best thing that I could have done.

When you burn the upper part of your mouth trying to eat pizza and pieces of skin hangs off for a while.

12. French Bread roof of the mouth abrasion. |
|
My husband I were talking about this about 15 minutes ago. It happens with Vietnamese Submarine sandwiches, too, as they learned the breadmaking thing from the French. The roof of my mouth can hurt for a couple of days after a French Bread abrasion!

17. I live in fear of bagel hands |
|
Bad habit of holding the bagel in one hand, hacking through it with a bread knife with the other. I always chicken out (wise up) and finish slicing through it on the counter -- I once heard and ER doc say that almost every weekend morning, he sewed up someone's fingers who had sliced bagels in their hands.

Those suckers will shred your fingertips. And heaven forbid you rub your eye while peeling. And wash up very well before you take your contacts out that night!
