We are going to foster a dog for a week |
|
apparently kennel cough is running through the rescue league.
they need some people to foster dogs until they clear out the problem.....
the little b's and Mr. B and I will be taking a trip to check out the animals...

1. Good for you! Thank you! I've fostered both kittens and beagles |
|
In fact, the current beagle started out as a foster. The trick is giving 'em back.
It's truly good of you to do this!! Thanks!

4. update - no dog for us... |
|
:-(
although we got put on a list and donated some money to the shelter.
While we are pretty keen on getting a dog...we would really rather try fostering first.
So we will wait for the right dog.
The majority of dogs at the shelter were just too big for our home and for my kids...my daughter was very intimidated by big dogs and the one dog we liked didn't pass the test for living with kids.
The shelter will call us when they get a pup we can take care of..

5. sorry that you have to wait... but it makes sense |
|
to find a good fit so that it works. Great thing that you are doing. Our pup came to us with what seemed to be kennel cough - ended up being a rare form of pnemonia that easily could have killed him - only by being in an environment where folks were tending to his needs - and noticing even slight changes in his conditions (and getting help) did we find that out and get the right treatment. Vets said that for a while it was touch and go per his chances of survival. Not that you would suspect that if you met this healthy and affectionate golden today.
Kudos to you and your family. I am sure the wait will be worth it for you, and the stay at your home will be exceptionally valuable to the lucky dog who is placed with you.
