Freeper Free and Lovin' it |
|
I checked out this link on Buzz where this blogger logged on on Free Repugnant, posted some relatively common sense posts and ended up banded for life, in order to prove the point that the Freepers aren't free.
More power to ya.
Then he tried the shoe on the other foot.
He also posted on DU and ended up having some of his posts removed to show that this forum, coincidentally doesn't take kindly to comments that contrast to our general philosophy (What ever that is these days).
Okay, we never said we're open to freepy foolishness in our beloved DU. As a matter of fact, we're down right agin' it.
But I couldn't help but wonder what examples the blogger used to prove his point on DU. They must have been chock full of freeposity.
He probably didn't believe half of what he posted.
Despite his argument, I'm damned glad we keep excise the freepishness here. I like interacting with other lefties of like mind in an environment free of freeping freepers.
If I wanted to argue with knuckle-draggers, I'd log on to Yahoo and set the insult meter to REALLY FUCKING high.
So let me say to you lurkers out there that don't understand the nature of DU: Nobody ever said we have to be fair. Just love us just the way we are.

It's our playground and we don't have to let the bullies in to insult us! :bounce:

2. I don't buy the argument that we must be totally open and fair to all POVs |
|
We are Democratic Underground, after all, not Non-Affiliated Non-Partisan Underground. We do have an agenda. That's nothing to be ashamed of.

3. This just struck me. We're Democratic Underground, which implies |
|
that we are supporters of the Democratic Party (and other allied non-US parties), but what does the name Free Republic imply?

...the People's Democratic Republic of Korea is "democratic" (or "people's").

5. Yeah, it implies that posters are 'free' to post their thoughts. |
|
Typical right wing sleight-of-hand. I suppose "Free as long as you happen to agree with this long line of extreme ideas Republic" wouldn't fit in the url line.
