No frills chocolate chip. What do DUers recommend?

1. I've always made pinwheels. |

PITA and a fair amount of work, but take half of a basic cookie dough and make it vanilla or almond, and the other half chocolate. Chopped nuts in the dough are good, as is raspberry in the chocolate.
Roll both out to less than 1/4" thick, then put one over the other and roll the whole thing up so you get a spiral. Slice off the cookies and bake. Everyone will love you.
I have saved a little work and rolled up thicker slabs, making ying/yang cookies.
I have also made two-tone sandwich cookies with these two, using a cookie cutter and fruit preserves. Raspberry is my favorite, but any berry will do. God's greatest gift to mankind is berries.
Oatmeal raisin peanut butter chocolate chip with sliced almond and hazelnut drop cookies are exactly that, and also disappear rapidly.
Very easy to make. And some mushed up banana in there is fun, too.
