Between the Howard Stern gig, his stint on Heroes, and his awesome turn at the Shatner roast, I am glad that he is having his own pop cultural renaissance as of late.

I really think that he now feels comfortable with who he is and the public notices this. They've finally realized that he's quite witty and doesn't take himself too seriously.

I think people like him more now than when he first did Trek.

I have been so used to seeing him playing a straight laced stiff upper-lip type of officer as Sulu on Star Trek that seeing him cut-up like that just blew me away.It just doesn't fit the image I have had of him.Totally blew the stereotype I (and other people too I'm sure)had of him.
It kinda reminds me of when Leslie Nelson went from serious actor to Police Squad/Airplane roles.
Maybe this will help out his career by showing he can do roles beside Star Trek sequels.
