Post your favorite Trader Joe wine!
Right now, I'm enjoying a delicious bottle of Black Opal Chardonnay--it tastes like melons and peach :9

(And yes, because I AM a college student, I do buy a ton of Charles Shaw wine. So sue me :P )

What are yours?

1. I like whatever their Primativo is (Il Valore?)...
$4, very drinkable. (Primativo = zinfandel.)

As for Charles Shaw...their Cabernet is terrible. Never tried the other stuff.
(I am also a college student, but I drink so little wine that the extra $1 a bottle for the primativo is a non-issue. Hell, an extra $20 a bottle wouldn't be much of an issue for as infrequently I drink these days.)

2. Hey, I'm NOT a college student and I buy tons of Three-Buck Chuck.
It's not bad, and I make lots of spritzers (so I can keep the drink going for longer w/out getting too buzzed/tired and cutting calories), so that works well for that.

11. ah, loved selling that!
I love drinking it too, it's also my standard "gift wine". Alas, we have no TJ's.

Though, for one of my favorites, Grant Burge, The Holy Trinity, which is a GSM. Another is Seven Deadly Zins, made by Michael - David Vineyards. I lean towards big fruit, but meaty, with relatively high alcohol content, when well intergrated in the wine. Big fat cabs, zins, shiraz/syrah. Not many white wines work for me. Just started getting interested in ports. I've got a 2000 Churchill's aging, got a 95 from spectator, got an awsome deal on it too, 40 bucks from our distributor, I should have bought more, it's now going for over 70 bucks a bottle.

Tried the 2 buck chuck, and chuck I did. Thats some nasty chit. But, hey what ever floats your boat....no snob here, I just know what I like. I've been selling wine for over 10 years now, and it also turned into a hobby. If I had the money, I'd build a fat cellar, and start collecting.

5. Damn PA liquor laws
no Trader Joe's wine for me.

Back in NY, I usually go for the Coppola Claret. It's a bit pricier, but it's totally worth it--a really nice bottle of wine for $10-15 depending on where you get it.

8. Black Mountain "Fat Cat" Cabernet -- try it, you will love it!! I guar-an-tee!
A friend of mine turned me on to this wine. It's about five or six bucks a bottle, but it is so good.

I have a friend who owns a Cuban restaurant and does a lot of catering. I had her cater my 40th birthday party and I bought the "Fat Cat" Cabernet. She tasted it and absolutely loved it. When I explained to her where to get it and how much it costs, she told me that she was going to start serving that wine at their catering jobs.

I saw her a couple of months later and she told me that she had more people ask about the wine than ever before -- it was a huge hit!

Do yourself a favor and buy a bottle.
