"Brokeback" scribes (McMurtry/Ossana) in the saddle for new projects
Ok, I hate Fox as much as anyone, but this is exciting news for any Larry McMurtry fans! Sounds like they've been BUSY!!!

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The Oscar-winning writers of "Brokeback Mountain" are developing a Fox television drama that sources said will examine urban and rural life.

Details on the untitled project, which Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana will write and executive produce, have been kept under wraps.

McMurtry and Ossana are in postproduction on CBS' six-hour miniseries "Comanche Moon." Based on McMurtry's best-selling novel, a prequel to "Lonesome Dove," the miniseries stars Steve Zahn, Karl Urban, Val Kilmer and Rachel Griffiths.

Additionally, the writing duo is developing an ABC drama called "Sheriff Luke." On the feature side, they are bringing McMurtry's novel "Boone's Lick" to the big screen in a project that will star Tom Hanks.

1. If Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossama do a filmscript on the Three Pigs,
I will by god buy a hundred tickets.

They are terrific writers with the long view back and forward.

And on the rural/urban tension landscape, they're tops.

Thank you for this post.
