How do you cheer yourself up after a lousy night?
My ex (with whom things seemed to have been sort of re-kindling) let me know last night that she wanted no part of a romantic relationship and just wanted to be "friends".

It's not a huge thing, but it IS disappointing. What method of self-indulgence do YOU use to baby yourself after a bad night?

1. She probably wants
to take advantage of you if friendship means you give more of whatever.
Go read the Onion or Ironic Times or something that gives you a good belly laugh and be cool!

5. Sorry to hear it, pmbryant...
I know, it sucks. I'm going to a wedding in about 6 weeks, so I decided to buy myself a new suit. 2 Canali suits, 3 shirts and 3 ties later, I felt a LITTLE better. Shopping is a poor substitute, but there's something about a good suit...

I'm still residually bummed, though...

8. Oh, it used to be sex, however,
now it's a little booze, not a whole lot. Sometimes I'm really happier with a really good cup of tea. I must be moving toward the light.

13. Yeah, I've done that...the worst part is the semi-hangover the next A.M.
...mild hangovers are not fertile ground for happy thoughts...I just wind up feeling worse.

On the upside, at least I have a really clear answer to work with. I can stop spending time and energy on this without feeling like I might be missing something.

14. Scream
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 04:44 PM by VelmaD
Seriously. I just had a little romantic disappointment myself earlier in the week and my solution was first to cry. Then while I was stuck in traffic on the way to my best friend's house I screamed. At first it was just a scream but then I let myself yell about all the things I was angry about and I was amazed at the things that came out of my mouth by the end. Epiphanies followed. :-)

16. Walk, breathe, and focus
on your self.

Go do something you always wanted to do; but didn't, because she was never interested. Watch a favorite movie she'd hate to see.

Hope it gets better...
