Whee! I got a Wii!
Been looking for months - this morning, just happened to be near a Toys R Us and dropped by about a half hour before they opened. There was no line... but a guy standing out front. We walked up and he said "Wii?" We said yeah, he handed us a ticket and said "go on in!"

The resident audio-video expert is setting it up now!

6. It's a game console
from Nintendo. Just came out late last year, and they're very very popular and hard to find.

2. I want to get a Wii sometime.
I almost got one last week. But the guy at Best Buy said that they plan on getting them in on a regular basis now.

7. I decided that I am just going to wait until they are readily available
I am so sick of these game companies pulling this trick on people. You would think that after the Christmas rush they would be available everywhere.

I am not in a big hurry anyway.

9. in this instance
I don't think Nintendo is "pulling" anything. They simply can't keep up with the demand.

But, it does seem to be getting better - the clerk at the store said they got 40 units this shipment when they usually get <10. AND they had extra controllers available, which are even harder to come by.

10. actually
it seems the strap is now reinforced. We DID buy a rubberized controller-cover, and it had a much thinner, cheaper strap, so we're using the one that came with the game.

14. the weather channel is neat
My SO and I played Zelda for pretty much non-stop for 2 weeks when I was visting him in Utah in December-- that game kicks all sorts of ass AND it's amazingly fun with the Wii controller and nunchuck :)

I also heard good things about the new Sonic game.

But man, I need to play FFXII...

15. How fun!
My sons bought an X-box 360 a few months ago, instead of the Wii, to my disappointment. The older son wanted the higher quality graphics of the X-box (you know how important it is to have realism when you splatter alien blood...:eyes: ).

The Wii looks like much more fun. And some of the games look wonderfully goofy, like the Rayman Raving Rabbids.

Let us know how you like it! :hi:

17. So far
it's great! Played all the sports games once, and now we'll try Zelda and Rayman.

I got a 173 on my first bowling game!

18. I'm so jealous. I want a Wii so bad.
Don't have the funds for it right now, but it looks like the coolest gaming system ever. My wife is not a big fan of computer games, but she's even told me that as soon as we can get one, we need to!

I think Nintendo hit it out of the park with this one. Combining conventional couch-potato video game action with at least some sort of physical activity was an idea whose time had come.
