Anyone know of any arcade emulators for Win XP? |
|
I have a bunch of ROMs an a copy of MAME on my PC (Win 98SE), but MAME doesn't want to open on my XP laptop.
Anyone know of any better, newer emulators which will run my existing roms?
And yes, I do have every arcade game in my garage--the ROMs are on my computer for convenience' sake.

1. Have you tried assigning it to run like Win98? |

I'm not at my XP computer now, but I think if you right-click the program it gives you options as to how XP will run the program.
I had a couple of old programs that weren't running right on XP, but when I told it to run them like Win95 they ran just dandy.

Are you using the right version of MAME, or have an updated version of DirectX?
I think the MAME versinos for Win98 and XP may be different binaries. Could be wrong, but you may want to try an older release.
