Why is it so hard to find good paper these days? |
|
Just regular, stationery-sized paper. For writing letters. And envelopes to go with it. Everything I find is 8 1/2 x 11 and designed for printers. I want stationery, dammit!
Years ago, there used to be this place in the mall that sold stationery by the pound. Lovely colors -- every color you could think of -- and the texture and weight of the paper was just right.
God, I miss that store. Now I have to hunt and hunt and hunt...

1. If you're willing to pay... |

http://www.crane.com/Their stationery is an addiction of mine! Nothing like sitting down and writing a proper letter, IMO. I use it all the time.

I could play there for a while.
I've been looking for a good place to buy stationery and there just isn't anywhere local anymore. I need to buy a bottle of ink, too. Those are hard to come by, as well. If it doesn't go on or in a printer, it's getting hard to find.
It's depressing. Doesn't anyone write letters anymore?

7. If there is, I haven't found it. |
|
I don't get up to Denver very often, usually only once a year or so.

5. if you are really willing to pay |

then get the Crane stationery that is closest in weight, legally, to the heft of a dollar bill. (Crane makes those as well)
but for really fancy stuff, try William Arthur. or find a local place that will order from the UK or Italy.

it isn't publicised, you have to find someone at Crane and ask.

11. I know! There is one set of stationery I love on there but |
|
even with the discount that I get, it's too expensive. (It's a division of the company I work for).
But, the less expensive stationery is also very, very nice and fairly affordable for good quality goods.
We were all given one of their desk diaries for Christmas last year and it has spoiled me for life. They are absolutely wonderful!

I was looking for some stationary type paper last week, and was absolutely disgusted that I could not find any.

10. Isn't it frustrating? |
|
It's sad, too. There's just something about sitting down and writing a letter that's so...I don't know. I like it sometimes.
Apparently no one does it anymore.
