Has anyone seen Big Fish yet? No spoilers please. |
|
I was just curious as to how it was.
It looks pretty interesting and I have usually enjoyed Tim Burtons films, so I'm wondering about it. I find the commercials enigmatic.

1. Not as witty and sharp as Burton's other movies... |
|
Tough to connect with the characters. I really like Albert Finney, but in real life, his character would be an insufferable blowhard.
Just my opinion -- your take might be completely different.

10. I thought it was amazing! |

Burton did an excellent job of telling a complex story very well. The imagery is amazing, and it is deep on many levels. One of the things that struck me was the underlying meaning of many of the stories. You find situations such as the banks robbed by speculators, the town killed by outside influences (the death of small town USA), mortality, etc....
Best Burton film yet, definately! Kicks Batmans ass in my book. :)

11. Yes, I agree. His use of metaphoric relativity was so well done, so |

uniquely used in this work.
I loved his characters... and my daughter loved it too, she's 10. I was expecting it to be far more child oriented, but it's a film for US and kids.
It's a gentle film, and sits easily on your mind afterward, as you reflect on what you've seen, and possibly learned from this luscious, entrancing piece of work. Your thoughts dance around the characters and scenery...
Again, Burton amazes me with his vision. His way of seeing the world in story is astounding.
Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
