at NC States football stadium. The opening bands for the concert were---- the fresh faced kids called Van Halen and Bad Company.
What a concert....
RIP Brad Delp

There were 5 bands as I recall. One of them was Styx. That's about all I remember....

4. I saw them play in Spartanburg, SC in 78 and it was horrible... |
|
I didn't care for them at the time (and still don't), but a friend who was on car restriction offered to pay for my admission and give me 2 grams of hash. Terrible live act. Convinced me that with the exception of J. Geil Band every big 70s rock act out of Boston, MA just really sucked live- Boston, The Cars, Aerosmith.
The opening act was equally horrible. Some prog act out of the midwest called Starcastle. They actually had Radio Shack color organs as part of their "light show" Wretched.

8. Have you heard BeatleJuice? |
|
I called JohnnyD's in Somerville last night, where they were scheduled to play, to confirm what a friend had told me on the phone.
The poor man who answered the phone was beside himself.
BeatleJuice was supposed to play a benefit concert for my church last October, and Brad had a motocycle accident 2 days before, so it was cancelled. It was rescheduled to March 30!
The band did many benefits. They were/are all very generous and thoughtful. Donating their valuable time like that is priceless.
What a valuable asset to humanity Brad Delp was, in many ways.
RIP Brad.

6. I was too young to go to concerts (I wasn't 16 yet, and that was the family rule) |
|
