My computer is smarter than yours. |
|
So I got up this morning and reset the kitchen clock (analog), the microwave clock, the oven clock, and the coffeemaker clock. Got a flashlight (so as not to waken Miz t.) and reset the bedroom clock.
Then I came in here and turned the computer on. And lo and behold, IT HAS THE RIGHT TIME! Whoa. How'd it know that? Does it know about EVERY bill that congress passes? If so, how?
Just sign me 'Perplexed in Alabama' ;-)

1. It's a conspiracy. Bill Gates is in cahoots with the government. |
|
What else do they put in those patches? :tinfoilhat: :D

Freaky. Now I just have to tell the coffee maker, the microwave, my wristwatch, and a whole bunch of clocks.

5. My desktop was fine when I got up this morning! |
|
So I'd imagine the servers should be fine too. (I'm running Ubuntu btw)

But I don't hold favorites anymore - it's more fun to knock products than to support them.

8. I'm glad I'm not the only one |

wondering about this.
If it had been online - that - I could've understood. Or the regular 'pre-set date' for change. But it wasn't online and the date was different - so how did it 'know'?
Still scratching my head over it . . .

Newer versions of Windows (2000 and newer, I think) are synched with an online time server, so I'm guessing that's why.

10. my computer is a dinosaur |

it's from 1999 and almost chokes from the high speed internet. So all of you "techies" can have your fast, modern, and quiet computers. I will be satisfied with my old skool 'puter. (sweet lemon rationalization- I pray for a new computer soon)
